Add golden syrup then mix to form a soft dough. Roll dough on a lightly floured surface until 5mm thick. Using a 6cm round cutter, cut rounds from dough. Place on prepared trays, allowing room for spreading. Using a skewer, make a hole at the top of each cookie, to allow for a ribbon to thread through. Chill for 10 minutes. Bake for 10 minutes, until golden. Let cool on trays.
